Parkcrest On Mission Trip: Philippines 2014

Hello! My name is Joyce. Thank you for visiting my page. 

This mission trip to the Philippines will be my third one away from home. 

My first mission trip was in Cebu, Philippines back in 1984. The experience is very memorable to me because I got to go with my parents when I was a teenager. I remember ministering to the prisoners and sharing the gospel to them along with American missionaries from Missouri. 

My second mission trip took place in Ensenada, Mexico during the summer of 2011. My girlfriend, Josel Dauz invited me to join her and her family's mission team of 15 people in assisting The Alliance Mission (based in Washington State). I went with a very passionate group of young people who simply loved Jesus and wanted to help where there was a need. At this particular time, the mission in Ensenada needed help with minor construction work for two homes which would house troubled teenage boys and girls. Our job was to help finish the final phase which included the rooftops, install the stucco walls, sandpaper the walls, and paint both homes.. We also had opportunities to help with the VBS party for the children, and visit the boys living in the temporary shelter home with their counselor.

On this mission trip to the Philippines, I will be working with the worship team from Parkcrest Christian Church with the media operations. I am their newest member with the mission's team and the church. We will be traveling to different cities throughout the Luzon island.

Early this year I lost my dad who was a faithful servant of God; and I wanted to continue his legacy through this mission trip. I am fulfilling God’s call to serve this year in honor of my personal Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and both of my late parents, Bamby and Lucy Mawak.
