As many of you may know, my family and I lost my father to a rare disease 4 years ago this November. Watching him go though the aggressive disease HLH, not only changed me but helped me see how precious life can be. Growing up, I looked up to my Dad because he was a Marine and he loved God and his country. Even though my Dad was no longer in the USMC he never left, so seeing him lose the battle to HLH completely rocked my foundation. One of the last moments I spent with my father, I was trying to encourage him to continue to fight, and his response to me will never leave me. "I'm just to tired."
This is why I am running in this race along with my family. This is why I am asking you to donate.
If you are considering to make a donation, please donate to #TeamGrumps.
Together, we will run/walk to raise funds for ground-breaking research with Liam's Lighthouse Foundation, to increase awareness of this disease that all too often goes misdiagnosed, and provide support to each other as we fight Histiocytosis. What started out 8 years ago as 3 friends trying to support a grieving mother, who lost her 20 month old son to HLH, has grown larger and faster than they could have imagined. Every step taken and every dollar raised brings us closer to the ultimate finish line...A CURE!

Liam's Lighthouse Foundation (LLF), a non-profit, tax-exempt organization, was established to create and provide educational material and awareness about Hemophagocytic Lymphohistiocytosis (HLH) including Histiocytic Disorders, and to distribute unbiased, factual information to physicians, hospitals, and the community regarding this disease. Our focus is also to bring families affected by HLH/Histiocytosis together and offer support through a variety of resources. We aim at raising much needed funds for continued education of physicians and research to develop safer and more effective treatment methods and ultimately a cure. LLF is also dedicated to bring awareness to the community about the importance of becoming a blood and bone marrow donor.
