With gravel in his blood, and mud in his veins, Ray Porter set out to compete in the 2009 edition of Tour Divide, the hardest mountain bike race known in the history of earth. The race would stretch 2750 miles from Canada to Mexico along the Continental Divide. Ray's race came to an abrupt halt in Lima, Montana. The dream to finish burned on, and in 2011 I joined him and witnessed first hand his crowning athletic achievement in a life taken from us too soon.
