The California 100 is a one-day 100-mile paddling race on the Sacramento River produced by Rivers for Change. Beginning under the Sundial Bridge in Redding and finishing near Chico, this moving water round the clock event is open to all paddle sport enthusiasts in kayaks, open canoes, surfskis, standup paddleboards, outrigger canoes & prone paddleboards.

The Sacramento River, California’s longest river, flows south from Mt. Shasta through Oak woodlands, rolling hills, and open plains with views of Mt. Lassen to the East and the Yollo Bolly Wilderness to the west. The wide river bed accommodates reliable flows from 4,000 up to 20,000 cfs and above, yet remains a well mannered giant due to the low gradient. The largest rapids are class II, though current can be swift. The mild climate, sweeping vistas, easy access points and reliable flow combine to make this a wonderful venue for paddle sport of all sorts, accommodating the experienced marathoner and the first timer as well.
