Hey Friends and Fam,
31 years ago, I was in an explosion caused by a gas leaked that forever changed my life. I was fortunate enough to be one of the very first campers at the Arthur C. Luf Burn Camp in the summer of 1991. I didn't know what to expect and little did I know the powerful impact the camp, campers, counselors and staff would have on my life. The place where I formed everlasting friendship, helped to developed confidence in myself and learned to embrace my scars. It was a place that I could truly be a kid not just the kid with the burns. The counselors truly cared and helped me become the strong, confident woman I am today.
I've had the honor of being a counselor for 2 years and the smiles I see on the kiddos faces melt my heart. Witness to the challenges they overcome throughout the week, the forever friendships they form and the confidence they develop. It may only be a week long each summer but has the ability to forever change their lives. The kids attend the camp free of charge, and all staff are volunteers.
No amount is too small when it comes to helping others. I am living proof of the positive impact this camp has on the kids who attend. Greatly appreciate your kindness and generosity.
