I am very excited to announce that I am celebrating my 2-year Cancer Free Anniversary this summer by taking on A Big Challenge! In support of an amazing organization, the Triumph Cancer Foundation, I am partnering with them as a member of their Triumph to the Summit hiking team and raising money for Triumph at the same time.

As a new survivor just out of the hospital I could barely walk up a flight of stairs and with a new puppy at home, I had ambitions of getting out on hikes with her. It was a daunting task and I wasn’t sure where to start. Cancer treatment had left me weak. Then I found Triumph! Triumph Fitness is a 12-week course where I gained strength, stamina and confidence to keep working towards my goals. (And the Triumph Cancer Foundation offered this program at no cost!) Triumph Fitness wasn’t easy, but I am so grateful I had the opportunity and It’s important to me that I pay it forward and make this program a reality for another survivor.

I am proud to say I have been hiking every Saturday all summer with our team, training for our final hike - a Sierra Summit! We have been hiking at high altitude every weekend and on September 9^th, we will summit Thunder Mountain, a peak that is over 9,000’. By partnering with the Triumph, my goal is to raise money for other survivors to give them hope for their future. These hikes have been so rewarding and bring me Joy! The goal is big, but the cause is Mighty!
