Nepal 2018 - Scott Musgraves

Trekking Hope to His people Learn More

Hidden among the remote valleys of the world’s highest mountains live some of the most forgotten people groups on the planet. These diverse ethnic Tibetan communities have existed for generations having never heard the name of Jesus or the salvation that He offers. Crossroads is partnering with an organization in an effort to reach the unreached and love the unloved. The project exists to penetrate these remote communities and proclaim the gospel where it is not known. Our trip goal is to exalt Christ at the top of the world by seeing His church established making the mighty Himalayas his footstool.

As we embark on this journey, we call upon our friends and family for support. First we ask for your prayers. This trip is going to be stressful, heartbreaking and unlike anything we have ever experienced before. We know God has many things in store for us so we ask for your continued prayers. Second we need help financially. There are some pretty significant expenses involved in the logistics of a trip such as this, including airfare, ground transportation, helicopter chartering and more. In order to make this trip possible each member of the team is responsible for fundraising their own portion of the total trip costs. All donations to our team fund are tax deductible. Every dollar helps get me closer to my goal and everything above and beyond my goal will go directly to assist other members of the team with their fundraising. Please help support my team and I, either through ongoing prayer or by giving financially.

Thank you for your support and God Bless you,

Crossroads is hosting a celebration of the Global Outreach work being done on January 27th.  I wanted to extend an invitation to those who have helped with the trips I've been involved in.  If you would like to attend, just follow this link to RSVP.

Thank you again for being part of our Nepal 2018 support team!  It's been such a blessing and a catalyst to get involved in more.  Since our trip last April, I've several other opportunities to serve here in Corona, and with Samaritan's Purse in Texas and Barbuda.  We planned on returning to Nepal this October, however the trip has been postponed until April 2020.  This actually opened up the possibility of serving in a different part of the world!  Next month I will be travelling to serve in Cambodia and Thailand with Crossroads.  We leave September 6 and will be serving with our partner organizations for the next two weeks.

I want to ask if you will commit to pray for our team in your homes and even with your life groups for the next two months?  Some members are still raising funds and some are facing other challenges at home prior to this work.  We know just how important prayer is and would really appreciate your efforts in that area.  If you are also feeling led to donate financially, I can direct you to team members that are still fundraising.

I wanted to thank you again for your support in helping us Carry Hope to the Himalayas.  This trip was truly a life changing experience and has been a springboard for many of us to get more involved in ministry locally and abroad.  We are again building a team for Nepal in October 2019.

If you are interested in this experience yourself, you can apply at

Please consider supporting our 2019 team through prayer and/or financial support at

Thank you all so much for partnering with me.  It was really an amazing time with the Nepali people.  I finished up this video overview of our trip.

Thank you again,

Our trek begins in less than two weeks.  We will be travelling from April 12th-25th.  We will be flying to China, then Nepal.  Beginning in Kathmandu, we will be trekking hope into the mountain areas.  Please keep our team in prayer as it's apparent that attacks will continue to come towards our team and our families.

Commit your works to the Lord and your plans will be established.

Proverbs 16:3

"so in Christ we, though many, form one body, and each member belongs to all the others."

Romans 12:5 NIV

As I read this verse as part of a devotional, the author mentioned a particular story of a woman in his church they had nicknamed "knee" because of her impact to their churches ministries through her prayer. It reminded me how important a group of praying believers can be to an overall ministries work.

Thank you all again for joining me in this journey. The costs of this mission trip are being provided right on the planned schedule and I am blessed.

I have trained hard and passed all the physical tests required by the Nepal ministry group including a one hour 10k run and a CrossFit test for time.  Our team continues to train individually and as a team with stairs at the church and training hikes.

I would ask for continued prayer for the preparation and provision for our team and health during the flu season.

God bless you,

Our team continued training this past Saturday with a challenging hike to Taquitz Peak up South Ridge Trail in the San Jacinto area.  it was a great day of team building as we have added three new members.  We are currently reading the book At the Foot of the Snows by David E. Watters.  It is very descriptive of the people and culture we will encounter in Nepal.  Thank you for your support and please keep us in prayer as we prepare for the adventure.

Thank you all for supporting me in this Nepal mission!  We are still several months away, but the closer we get the more exciting it becomes.  On July 1st, our team team hiked the Ice House Canyon Trail.  It was a challenging trail of almost 10 miles near Mt. Baldy.  It was a great team building day as we are still getting to know one another and everyone was able to complete the trek.  I will keep you all updated on our progress as you are all part of this effort.

God bless you,
