"Mufinidi Orphans is an NGO that provides shelter, sustenance, education and medical care for orphans and foster families in Tanzania. During my time there, I will be documenting the incredible work that Mufindi Orphans performs in their community as they help: curtail the spread of HIV/AIDS, teach life skills (language, fiscal, vocation & self-sufficiency) and create hope and opportunities for future generations."

In February of 2016 I will be volunteering for two weeks with Mufinidi Orphans in Tanzania, Africa telling their story and the incredible work they do for the orphans and foster families through my lens. 

A little background on myself and what has led me to this opportunity can be found here. 

In short, I have been fortunate enough to turn my passion for photography into a career. I am a wedding photographer and absolutely love the work that I get to do. From the start, I knew that someday I wanted to give back with my craft. When I stumbled upon Photographers without borders - I grew inspired by the work that they do and realized I could make a difference with photography by capturing profound moments that tell a story to share with the world. 

I am ecstatic and humbled to be accepted and part of this project with Photographers Without Borders. Tanzania, Africa is a 36 hour plane trek from California and it takes a lot of resources for every volunteer to get there. I am asking for your help as I am fundraising for the following necessary costs:

• Airfare
• Visa's
• Vaccinations
• Health Insurance
• Travel Insurance

In order to ensure your donations are being spent responsibly, nothing is covered beyond the items indicated above. The following expenses are the sole responsibility of myself.

• Equipment
• Software
• Extra Baggage Fees
• Donation perks
• Clothing
• Postage/Postcard/Prints
• Etc.

As an appreciation for your contribution I am offering a gift certificate towards a portrait session with me for the amount you've donated. The gift certificate is valid for one year from 02/29/2016 and can be used towards any type of session with me including Wedding, Engagement, Family, Maternity & Newborn. Once you have completed your donation; please send me an email directly to aimi.duong@gmail.com and I will send you  the gift certificate via email & printed mailed to your home.

Photographers Without Borders® (PWB) envisions a world where we all put ourselves in each others' shoes and work together. Our mission is to inform and inspire positive change by visually communicating the ways that grassroots initiatives are addressing problems in their communities. PWB is registered as a charity in the United States with 501(c)(3) status and is registered as a not-for-profit organization in Canada. All donations are calculated in US Dollars and are tax-deductible for Americans and Canadians with US income.

Any overage amounts raised on GroupRev will be donated with the photographers direction, 100% to the Organization, 100% to PWB or split 50/50, between the photographer's/videographer's assigned cause and PWB, which is also a volunteer-run organization.
