The Tour de Force raises funds for the families of Law Enforcement Officers who have made the ultimate sacrifice.
I started my journey with this great group of people when my brother, Bill Pontious, a 30 year Veteran Police Officer passed away in his sleep in 2014. As a rider and fundraiser for many years, Bill was a huge supporter of The Tour de Force 9/11 Memorial Bike Ride. Shortly after his passing in September of 2014, Tour de Force rolled in to our town honoring Bill and our family in the process.
As witness to this ride, its purpose, the people and families they support, I knew that this would be my way to continue to keep his and his memory alive by continuing on with his mission. In 2015, I officially joined this great charity!
This will be year 5 for me, and although I have gone from rider to support to photographer, I feel I have finally found my place and purpose to contribute as much as I can. This year we will ride from Yankee stadium to Fenway Park in remembrance of 9/11 while raising funds to help support the families of law enforcement officers who are left behind when an officer is killed in the line of duty.
Thank You so much for your support - Diane
