My name is Stephen Martin II. I'm 27 years old from Cleveland, OH. I graduated in the Fall of 2010 from Case Western Reserve University with a Bachelor's of Science in Business Management. With my passion for small business and my ability as a barber I pursued a career in that industry with the idea of establishing a mobile barbershop business. In April of 2012 I graduated from Lake Erie Barber College and in July 2012 I became an Ohio Licensed Barber. On September 12th 2015 I married the love of my life Charron who sings on the praise and worship team at Journey Community Church. Our goal in marriage is to honor God in all the we do. During the "All In" campaign at Journey we decided that we wanted to climb Mt Kilimanjaro to help Journey reach the goal of reaching 10,000 people for Christ and build the Cleveland Hope Center. The climb is also significant because we will begin the climb on our one year anniversary, September 12th, and we will complete the climb and return home on my 28th birthday, September 22nd. Instead of having a wedding in September of 2016 Charron and I decided to uphold the commitment of honoring God with our marriage and postpone our dreams of having a wedding. I'm ALL IN for Christ and Journey Community Church and that is why I am climbing Mt Kilimanjaro.

“Our focus is not to build a church, but to make disciples who impact their own communities outside the four walls of the church.” – Pastor Jim Wilkes

Journey Community Church is a church-planting church that exists to help develop authentic relationships while empowering people to take their next step toward Loving God More and Loving More People. We believe every number has a name, every name has a story and every story matters to God, so we're on mission to reach 10,000 people.

One of the ways we plan to reach 10,000 people is by mobilizing a group of adventurers to climb Mt. Kilimanjaro to help raise funds for church planting, missions, and the Cleveland Hope Center. The Cleveland Hope Center is a non-profit that will provide resources like food, job placement, counseling, and outreach to those in need in Cleveland.

Will you help someone fulfill their dream of climbing Mt. Kiliminjaro AND invest into those in need?

All donations are given to Journey Community Church and a tax-deductible statement will be available to you at the end of the year. Contributions are made and received with the understanding that Journey Community Church and its entities have complete discretion and control over the use of all donated funds. They may be used for other participants involved in the climb, The Cleveland Hope Center, Journey Missions, or Church Planting. No refunds will be issued to participants or donors, even if the climber does not complete the climb. If you have questions or concerns please contact us via email at: info@journeypeople.com
