About This Campaign

Each summer Triumph Cancer Foundation assembles a team of hikers who train for several months to prepare for summiting a mountain top over 9,000' in the Sierra Mountains. Our team is comprised of Triumph Fitness graduates, Triumph Instructors and staff, other survivors and supporters. Every weekend, our team gathers at another trailhead, eager to take on a new challenge. Some of our team members have never hiked before, but together, we encourage one another along the way, as our hikes get progressively longer and more difficult. This summer we are offering two challenges for our team - Donner Summit and Thunder Mountain. Plus we have also scheduled several ocean hikes for our team!

Getting to the summit of any peak over 9,000 feet is a true accomplishment - just like surviving cancer. Our team's message to those that we meet on the trails is that cancer doesn't define us - it makes us stronger. And together, We Triumph! And should wildfire season mean adjustments to our schedule, Triumph will continue on the trails in other parts of Northern California, just like we did in 2020 and 2021. We are a determined bunch of cancer fighters!

To our Wonderful Donors and Supporters!

What an amazing summer it has been hiking as a team. We've been to the mountains and the sea - and places in between. And always, we've worn our Team Triumph blue shirts proudly to spur questions on the trails. In doing so, we've spread the word and inspired countless others.

Just like the last two years, we are once again facing the challenges of climate change and forest fires. We were sooooo close, literally just 24 hours away, from making our summit hike to Thunder Mountain in early September. And then the Mosquito Fire erupted in Foresthill impacting air quality. Last weekend, instead of taking on our final hike, we drove westward to the Calistoga area for another training hike to Table Rock. Today, we should have been on top of Thunder Mountain for our rescheduled hike, but again, winds shifted directions and it was a "no go" due to air quality.

If there's one thing I've learned this summer, it is that this group of hikers is determined. We will wait for that window of opportunity to stand atop the summit of Thunder Mountain and unfurl our Triumph banner. Hopefully September 24th will be our lucky day!

In the meantime, we thank you for your support, love and encouragement that you have showered upon this team of intrepid hikers. We thank you for your donations to Triumph Cancer Foundation! And we thank you for spreading the word about the important vital work we do to help cancer survivors in their recovery process!
