On December 5th, 1999, I stood on the side of a bridge prepared to end my life. It was by the grace of God, and the assistance of six Police Officers, that I am alive today to share my story. I did let go of the side of that bridge and Officer (RET) Ross Contipelli grabbed my hand before I fell to my death. Officer Contipelli almost lost his life saving mine. If it weren't for Officer Brian Sturgill who grabbed Contipelli’s gun belt before he went over with me, it would be a very different story being told today. It took 6 minutes and 21 seconds for Officers Greg Tinnirello, Dave Zemko, Greg Smagola, Chris Cross, John Kurtz and Dave Bailey, to cut the fencing to rescue both Officer Contipelli and I.

Later in an interview Officer Contipelli said, "I could never, on my own, have saved her life without the help of my comrades...Myself and all the other Officers involved were instruments of God. It was not her time to die."

I am standing here today to fulfill one of those purposes. I am climbing Mt. Kilimanjaro on September 11th -22nd, 2016 because I am called to stand on top of that mountain and bring my purpose to fruition.

I am climbing to bring honor to these Officers and bring awareness to the hard work and dedication our police officers give every single day. Their heroic efforts and those of so many of our men and women in blue, need to be shared more than ever now and I want to share it with you.

I am climbing this mountain to bring HOPE back to Cleveland and our people. The Cleveland Hope Center will be launched in 2016. The non-profit Cleveland Hope Center will help those hurting in our very own backyard. It will provide resources like food, job placement, counseling, and outreach to our people and need to see HOPE come alive in their lives again.

I am climbing to bring HOPE to people suffering from addiction, depression, and those that are lost and suicidal. I am climbing to bring HOPE to women in abusive relationships and feel there is no way out. I am climbing for teenagers lost and alone and feel like no one understands. I am climbing for teenage girls lacking self-esteem and HOPE. I am climbing for the addict that is surrounded in darkness and my HOPE is that they will see there is light within reach.

Seventeen years later I will be standing on a mountain, instead of a bridge, and with more breathtaking views than I could have ever imagined back in 1999. Thank you for allowing me to share my story and my purpose. I thank each and every one of you in advance.

Please join me in changing the world!! Help me to dream big and raise $10,000 to send me to Mt. Kilimanjaro to climb Africa's tallest mountain (only $3500 is needed for the trip and the rest of the money is all fundraising money$$$) and help launch the Cleveland Hope Center in 2016. I will be donating my own money every month until takeoff too! The best part in helping me change the world is that I will do all the physical work!!

All donations are given to Journey Community Church and a tax-deductible statement will be available to you at the end of the year. Contributions are made and received with the understanding that Journey Community Church and its entities have complete discretion and control over the use of all donated funds. They may be used for other participants involved in the climb, The Cleveland Hope Center, Journey Missions, or Church Planting. No refunds will be issued to participants or donors, even if the climber does not complete the climb. If you have questions or concerns please contact us via email at: info@journeypeople.com
