I am so happy and excited for this event to support the youth in Cedar Rapids. It is close to my heart, since I care very much for children and teens and I also love to share my faith with others. I have been getting to know the staff, board of directors, and volunteers with Youth for Christ and it is an amazing mission to support kids that might not have it in their homes. I have read testimonials from kids that Youth for Christ serves, and they are not for the weak. Kids go through some pretty heartbreaking things in life, and they should not have to feel alone. I think Youth for Christ does excellent work building positive relationships, activities and safe places to focus on themselves and their needs. It's terribly sad to me that a child can be in a home without loving parents that love them unconditionally and put their needs first. It's also a fact this does happen. If we can make a difference by spending time with them, listening, teaching, showing them that we do care and they also have a father in heaven that loves them unconditionally I think it matters more than we can even realize.
But when Jesus saw it, he was indignant and said to them, “Let the children come to me; do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of God.
