As many of you know, my son Mikey has autism. He's been fortunate that we discovered this early and he's been able to have great teachers, aides, and therapists all throughout his life from his developmental school through high school. Some children are not as fortunate.
I've been doing the annual EJ Autism Jigsaw Walk for more than ten years now. EJ Autism Foundation is a wonderful charity and does great things for the autism community. Their founder, Bea, is an amazing person who has two children on the spectrum. Her tireless efforts for ASD children have always inspired me to do my part for the community, too. And by simply walking 4 miles, I've been able to help contribute to Bea's charity and help kids with autism.
The past few years have been very challenging for my family. And part of those challenges was Mikey's illness that left him with a physical disability as well as his autism. Through hospital stays and regular physical therapy, he is making progress. Mikey is an amazingly strong kid. And he has never lost his sweetness, charm, and humor throughout his physical challenges. He is my inspiration and keeps me focused on my goals, too.
If you could help support my and my team's goals for this event it would greatly be appreciated. Any amount you could donate will go directly to helping a child with autism. And I can tell you from experience, it feels good to help. :-)
Thank you in advance for your support. It truly does mean a lot.
