As most of you know, my mother has been fighting against this horrible disease for over a year now. It has extremely difficult on her but she is one tough lady and refuses to give up. My daughter Allison started her team, Grammy's Gang, last year in support of her. This is our second year walking. Please consider donating to help find a cure for this horrible disease that takes so much from so many. You are all also invited to join our team and walk with us on Sunday September 18th. We would love to have you. It was an amazing day for a really great cause . Thank you all so much!

More than 20,000 women are diagnosed with ovarian cancer each year, and approximately 15,000 women die from the disease. Unfortunately, most cases are diagnosed in their later stages when the prognosis is poor. However, if diagnosed and treated early, when the cancer is confined to the ovary, the five-year survival rate is over 90 percent. That is why it is imperative that the early signs and symptoms of the disease are recognized, not only by women, but also by their families and the medical community.
There is currently no early detection test for ovarian cancer, which is why it is imperative that the early signs of the disease are recognized, not only by women, but also by their families and the medical community. Until there is a test, the key to early diagnosis is through awareness—which this event helps us share with the entire community.

Best of luck with your walk and as always, love to your mom. Thoughts and prayers with her every day!
