First and foremost, thank you for taking the time to read this.
I am going to raise at least $1,000 for Veterans by swimming in this event, to thank them for their service to their country, and give back in some small way by doing something I enjoy: challenging myself to do something different, and helping others.
Friends and family of mine have served in different branches of the military, and their stories and sacrifices that they have made always leave me awestruck, inspired, and deeply grateful and appreciative for what they have undergone in service to our country. Those whom I know personally are fortunate to have family and friends to support them in acclimating to life after service, but there are plenty who still need help from organizations like the ones this charity supports and partners with.
I've challenged myself to several half marathons, a handful of triathlons, and this swim event in 2019, but this one is by far the most important to me.
I humbly ask that you can give even a small amount, and help me reach this goal to say "Thank You" to our service men and women. We live in the land of the free, because of the brave. I thank them for it and I hope you do too.
Thank you in advance, if you need me I'll probably be at the pool.
More about the event:
